A GROUP OF PROFESSIONALS

MAKING CAREER AND PERSONAL LIFE CHANGES

CLIENT REQUIREMENT:

A small group of professionals in various stages of their careers and lives wanted a workshop which would help them better understand their needs and objectives as they went through some major transitions.  They required sessions which would assist  them to clarify their goals and to draw up their own personal plans in very specific aspects of their lives and jobs.  Further, they required tools to help them in making not only the current decisions facing them, but also help them in similar planning in the future.  They wanted the

Workshop to be highlypersonalised without it being an individual coaching session and wanted very concrete outcomes.

OUR RESPONSE:

These clients were given a workshop tailored to each person’s specific individual needs while still working as a group.  Based on sound principles of psychology, the workshop was “hands-on” and multi-sensorial, backed up with guidance both general and individual. Clients each received a personal workbook and a large set of materials to help them “create” their plans.  The workbook contained instructions and templates for future use.

RE-WRITE:

The process was confidential in nature, with the facilitator guiding and coaching each individual so that all goals, and the steps towards them, were identified, modified and clarified.  The participants, nevertheless, chose to share some of their work with each other in order to get feedback on certain points from the group.

Time frames, resources and success indicators were part of the process to assure that goals were grounded in reality.

CLIENT OUTCOMES:

Each client developed their own, totally individualized set of personal and professional goals, identified the objectives behind these and established a clearly laid-out plan composed of concrete steps set within specific time frames.  The multi-sensorial approach catered to each participant’s learning style.  The constant “reality checks” assured each person that their goals were certainly achievable and this, in turn, boosted motivation.

This process prepared the participants for using the workbook and its instructions and templates in times of future need.
